If You Wanna Get To Know Me
©R. Mason, Bonk Zone Music ASCAP
You got to look good, like you know that you should
You got to act sharp, if you think that you could
You got to be proud, not just a face in the crowd
If you wanna….get to know me
You got to aim high, don’t want nobody too shy
You got to walk tall, and baby give it your all
You got to step out, and show ‘em what it’s about
If you wanna…get to know me
If you wanna (if you wanna) get to know me (x4)
Don’t want nobody who’s a little too sweet
Get out of my kitchen if you can’t stand the heat
If you don’t cut it, honey, don’t waste my time
Cause only the qualified need apply

The Listener

What in the world were you talking about
When I saw you yesterday
You said you don’t feel like you should
And your money’s no good
You even wanna give up playing
I hate to see a friend going on this way
When I know it’s just a bad day
But I will listen to you, sympathize with you
You know I’ll ride with you all day
I’ll try to analyze what that look in your eyes
Is trying to say to me
Don’t worry ‘bout the time you can keep me on the line
‘Cause I’m the listener, and you can talk to me
Things always seem to be worse than they are
See the horizon, it’s not very far
I might put a sign on my door that says
That the doctor is in today
You can be my patient, you can be my friend
It won’t matter either way
I’ll try to analyze that look in your eyes
And make it easier
Don’t worry ‘bout the time you can keep me on the line
‘Cause I’m the listener, and you can talk to me
Depend on me, trust in me, get high with me, connect with me,
Believe in me, lean on me, rely on me…….

I’m riding just for the sake of today
I’ve seen some trouble along the way
Some people give up the journey too soon
Old roots can make a new flower bloom
On Bridge 51
There is a long way to fall
On Bridge 51
I’ll steer away from the siren’s call
I’m so glad I’ve got you to show me the way
Without you I’d probably lose my way
New highways will always be where we belong
It’s wide open, just like we’re twenty-one
On Bridge 51
There is a long way to fall
On Bridge 51
I’ll steer away from the setting sun
Bridge 51
I can see further than where I’ve gone
Bridge 51
I’m rolling over the horizon

You Don’t Know What I’m Saying
©Billy Carl Mancini (aka Bill Mason), Bonk Zone Music ASCAP
When I met you
I thought that you were the girl of my dreams
But that ‘aint true
Cause things aren’t always what they seem to be
And that don’t mean
That we can’t finish what we started to do
So casually
And I’m not trying to take advantage of you
You don’t know what I’m saying
You don’t know
Sometimes you love me, sometimes you don’t
Sometimes you’ll hold me, sometimes you won’t
Talk to the mirror, talk to the wall
What could be clearer, nothing at all
You’re a free girl
And I don’t wanna take that freedom from you
It’s a big world
I know there’s a million things that you wanna do
Let’s spend the night together
The air is cool and the lights are low
Tonight is not forever
And I’ve got time before i have to go

MIDWAY DREAM CAFÉ
©Billy Carl Mancini (aka Bill Mason), Bonk Zone Music ASCAP
I met a man
Said he had been to the gathering of the flock
And he lived off the land
And that his mission in this life was just to rock
He was eighteen
Living a dream
Soon to be awoken
In the jungle of the broken hearted
Another night between dreams and reality
Another story I’ll be told, another life to unfold
At the Midway Dream Café
Sally likes to croon
She likes to sing it with the band just for fun
She may not stay in tune
But she has practiced all week for her moment in the sun
She sings her song
Nothing is wrong
Tomorrow will not come
And yesterday is gone
Another night between dreams and reality
Another story I’ll be told, another life to unfold
At the Midway Dream Café
If I see another sad face looking up at me
I may have to leave this sad place, woudn’t you agree?
I can’t look them in the eye as I am floating trough their dream
Another night between dreams and reality
Another story I’ll be told, another life to unfold
At the Midway Dream Café

Jet Setting in Morocco

Ooo, I’d love to make it big
And you know that I could dig
Jet setting in Morocco
Ooo, The stars are out tonight
And I hope I’m in their light
Jet setting in Morocco
The beautiful people are everywhere
They’re wearing some flowers in their hair
And they’re so far above the street life
And they’re always doing what they feel like
Ooo, God help the little ones
They don’t know the feeling of
Jet setting in Morocco
Ooo, But the sequined goddesses
Wonder is this all there is
Jet setting in Morocco
Pretty dollar signs can fill your eyes
And you will have the time to spend it right
You can spend your life believing lies
It’s so easy to jet set into the sky
Jet setting in Morocco----

Pond Life
©Curt Naihersey/Billy Carl Mancini (aka Bill Mason) Camaraderie Music BMI / Bonk Zone Music ASCAP
We go rowing round the pond on a beautiful summer day
There’s just the slightest breeze to take the waves of doubt away
We watch the oars create the ripples
We see concentric rings of Life
We hear the wind whisper caution
Yet we could stay out here all night
We see the lights in the distance as the chilly air comes down
We’re lost in the stillness and barely hear a sound
Your hand glides through the water
Your feet rest on my lap
The magic moon has caught us
And we might never sail back
And this is how nature holds us in veneration and awe
There are no words that truly say what feelings should belong
The sky. The air. The pond. The boat.
Two people floating in a world of hope.
We trace the course in borrowed joy
An ecstasy we shape without a chance for choice

Somedays
©Billy Carl Mancini (aka Bill Mason), Bonk Zone Music ASCAP
If I could make you happy
You know I would
If I could change the path we
Must take I would
Sleep tight-the world will turn and fires will burn
Dream like-you’ll never to this earth return
Somedays you’ll wonder if you can get through
Somedays will be the kind you want them to
Somedays
Sunlight must turn to darkness
Rivers must flow
I want to be a fortress
And never know
Sleep tight-the world will turn and fires will burn
Dream like-you’ll never to this earth return
Somedays-you’ll wonder why the road is rough
Someday-you’ll know my love will be enough
Somedays....

Northridge

I met you in a little town
Your smiles covering up my frown
Your eyes running up and down
Whether you knew it or not
Come with me to Northridge
Come with me to Northridge
It’s the place of my birth
I can’t believe what I’ve done to myself
You tried hard, still I died inside
Believe me when I say to you
I’ll still be strong, though I’ve cried
I feel like a hundred men
Thinking ‘bout where I’ve been
But inside of me I’ve got this locked
What can I do but talk?
The leaves they’re falling in my head
The rain it’s falling like I said
When will all the wind stop blowing?
When will I be free to get where I’m going?
